The Autumn term has been a very busy, but also very enjoyable term for all those
in Year 6. Our main topic that we have been covering this term has been World War
Two. We have learnt what life must have been like on the home front, which included
rationing, getting into role as an evacuee, written an Air Raid Precautions handbook
to prepare people for the Blitz. We also produced an independent learning project
about the Blitz for our half term homework. In November we had our highlight of
the term, we took a short trip to Henley Fort in Guildford to take part in a Home
Front day. Whilst we were there, we became Air Raid Wardens and members of the Home
Guard!!

Earlier this term we visited Chertsey Fire Station to take part in the annual Junior
Citizen programme. We learnt a lot about keeping ourselves safe in different situations.
